While following up on operational information, officers from the drug control department of the Sochi police detained a 47-year-old local resident suspected of manufacturing and selling drugs.
In his apartment, operatives found a specially equipped closet in which he was growing seven cannabis plants. Additionally, police discovered a large batch of ready-made drugs—about 610 grams of marijuana. The police department has no doubt that the Sochi resident acquired the drugs for further sale in the resort area.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Russian Criminal Code, which provides for up to 20 years of imprisonment.
— The police continue systematic work to suppress the illegal drug trade. If you know of any facts regarding the manufacture, storage, or sale of prohibited substances, report them to the police by calling 102, — urged the press service of the Sochi police department.
