Schoolboy from Gornouralsky Confesses to Murder

In the village of Gornouralsky near Nizhny Tagil, a 15-year-old teenager is accused of murdering 47-year-old Natalia Kiryanova. The crime occurred on 6 January when the victim was returning home and entering the stairwell.

The teenager named Anton was initially placed under house arrest, but he escaped. He hid for five days until law enforcement detained him on 19 January.
During the first interrogation, the suspect showed no remorse. A source from E1.RU reported: «He showed no signs of remorse during the first interrogation. And he himself cannot explain the reason for the attack — he did it thoughtlessly. He said that he felt unwell, took a knife, and went for a walk. In the stairwell, he met a woman, passed her on the stairs, then went down and stabbed her in the stomach with the knife. After that, he simply left. Moreover, at the time of the crime, he was sober.»
Among the village residents, various theories about what happened circulated:
- The teenager may have an undiagnosed mental disorder;
- Possible revenge for a remark the woman made earlier when Anton was beating a mentally disabled teenager;
- Committing the crime on a dare with friends;
- Fear of being caught while placing a drug stash.
Local resident Elena said: «Many theories circulated in the village. It was assumed that Anton could have done this on a dare with friends. And there was another version that there was some stash on the top floor, he was afraid of being caught. This teenager was caught drinking many times, but nothing is known for sure about drugs; it»s more of an assumption.«
Acquaintances of Natalia Kiryanova describe her as a wonderful mother and a calm person. At the same time, Anton was feared in Gornouralsky — he often participated in fights, and after his escape from arrest, many residents were afraid to leave their homes.
The fugitive was captured thanks to information from another minor. Law enforcement officers found the teenager when he came to an apartment to celebrate a friend«s birthday.
The Investigative Committee has already charged the teenager under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (murder). Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin instructed the head of the Sverdlovsk investigative department to report on the progress of the investigation.
