Rosgvardiya Officers Bring Beaten Man's Body to Police Station
Our colleagues at E1.RU obtained footage from the body cameras of Rosgvardiya officers who delivered the body of 33-year-old Nikolai to Police Department No. 11. Nikolai had been beaten to death by guards (chopovtsy) at a «Monetka» store on Pekhotintsev Street, 7a.
The officers only realized the man was dead once at the police station, following pointed questions from the duty officer. The security forces attempted to resuscitate him, but without success. We are publishing the shocking footage and a transcript of the dialogues.
Recall that the tragedy occurred in November 2025. The victim«s sister stated that at least four people beat her brother, yet only one suspect is currently charged. Doctors documented broken ribs and a cervical vertebra fracture.
«Are you out of your minds?»
Rosgvardiya Officer 1 (RG1). He passed out.
Rosgvardiya Officer 2 (RG2). He was a bit more active earlier. Two teams of private security guards (chopovtsy) were working him over there.
Duty Officer (DO). Is he alive?
RG2. He was alive. I don«t know now.
DO. Alive?
RG1. Who the hell knows.
DO. Are you out of your minds, or what?
RG2. What, am I a doctor or something?
RG1. I don«t get it. Watch your tone.
RG2. Damned if I know.
RG1. Put him down (checks pulse). Wow, he messed up his whole tongue *** [damaged].
DO. Alive?
RG1. No.
DO. Be serious.
RG1. Really, no. Put him on the ground. Not like that.
Next, the Rosgvardiya officers perform resuscitation efforts, but it was all in vain. An ambulance crew that was called pronounced him dead.
«It was a group killing»
According to Nikolai«s relatives, his death certificate lists the cause as hypoxia resulting from a concussion of the cervical spine. This could have occurred after kicks or blows with a stick, or from trampling on his head and neck. He also had broken ribs.
Nikolai worked as a slinger and left behind a nine-year-old child. On that fateful day, the man had been drinking and argued with the clerks at a «Pivko» store, who pressed a panic button. By the time the private security guards arrived, the incident was over and the troublemaker had gone to the neighboring «Monetka» store. A Rosgvardiya patrol also entered there. Seeing Nikolai, they, for some reason, began to twist his arms and beat him, first in front of store employees, then in a back room out of the cameras« view.
After several hours of abuse, the man lost consciousness. His unresponsive body was loaded into a Rosgvardiya vehicle and taken to the police department. No one present thought to call an ambulance.
Although several people beat Nikolai, only one private security guard is currently a suspect.
«The Investigative Department for the Zheleznodorozhny District of Yekaterinburg is investigating a criminal case initiated under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the victim»s death through negligence) and Part 2 of Article 203 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (excess of authority by an employee of a private security organization involving violence and resulting in grave consequences). The punishment for the most serious of these crimes is up to 15 years of imprisonment,« the regional Investigative Committee commented on the incident.
The Rosgvardiya Directorate for the Sverdlovsk Region and the private security firm «Medved-Ye1» (Bear-Ye1) have so far declined to comment.
The family believes it was a group killing, directly involving four private security guards and indirectly involving two Rosgvardiya officers (for not calling an ambulance in time). The family has filed a complaint with the Head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin. Video from the store shows that at least one other guard beat Nikolai and stepped on his head with his foot.
