Police track suspect in 2022 Novomoskovsk theft series after four years

In the Tula region, a man has been detained on suspicion of committing three thefts back in 2022. All of these occurred in the city of Novomoskovsk. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) for the Tula region.
Four years ago, two female residents of Novomoskovsk reported thefts to the police — money was stolen from their summer houses. Another resident of Tula complained that someone had broken into his car and also stole money.
The total damage exceeded 68,000 rubles (about $756 at current rates).
At that time, the police were unable to find the perpetrator. However, police have now managed to track down a suspect. According to law enforcement, a 36-year-old man with a prior conviction may be involved in the thefts.
But there is a catch — he is already serving a sentence in a correctional colony in the Kaluga region.
The police suspect that the man may be involved in a number of other crimes in the Tula region. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
