Kirkorov impersonator swindles 100k from Balakovo woman

A 30-year-old local woman turned to the police in Balakovo, stating that she had become a victim of a scammer who swindled nearly 100,000 rubles (about $1,100 at current rates) from her. Details of the incident were reported by the press service of the regional Interior Ministry department.

According to the victim, a popular pop singer allegedly wrote to her in one of the messengers. His nickname in the messenger matched the name of the real performer, so the woman believed the man. They corresponded from November 2025 to January 2, 2026.

At some point, the man suggested meeting and paying for his trip to Balakovo, and also promised the Balakovo resident a personal dinner with him. She transferred 98.5 thousand rubles (approximately $1,100 at current rates) to the details provided by the man. After that, the «pop singer» stopped making contact.

Realizing she had become a victim of fraud, the Balakovo resident went to the police. According to a source in law enforcement, the scammer introduced himself to her as singer Filipp Kirkorov. Based on the victim«s statement, a case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code on fraud.
