FSB Detains Deputy of Chelyabinsk Technopark Over 23-Million-Ruble Bribe

FSB officers visited Sergei Nevrov, the deputy general director of Technopark Traktorozavodsky LLC. Searches were conducted at the company«s office, and a criminal case on bribe-taking has been initiated. The regional FSB directorate confirmed this on Wednesday, January 21.

«It has been established that the official intended to receive a bribe of 23 million rubles (about $255,600 at current rates) from a representative of a commercial organization in exchange for lobbying their interests,» the press service of the agency reported.
The lobbying involved concluding a long-term lease agreement between the commercial firm and the technopark, which owns real estate in the Traktorozavodsky district.
According to the Investigative Committee, from September 2022 to March 2023, the deputy general director received three million rubles (about $33,333 at current rates).
«In addition, from January 2024 to March 2025, the suspect received 3.7 million rubles (about $41,111 at current rates) through an intermediary for similar actions regarding previously concluded property lease agreements,» the regional Investigative Committee directorate added.
Technopark Traktorozavodsky LLC was registered in Chelyabinsk on December 31, 2005. According to Kontur.Focus, 81% of the company is owned by the F.E. Dzerzhinsky Research and Production Corporation Uralvagonzavod, and 19% by the Ministry of Property of the Chelyabinsk Region. The general director is Pyotr Vyacheslavovich Vorontsov. The company«s revenue for 2024 was 295.9 million rubles (about $3,287,800 at current rates), and net profit was 163.3 million rubles (about $1,814,400 at current rates).
Two more criminal cases have been initiated — one on bribe-giving against the enterprise«s director and another on mediation against his advisor.
Part 6 of Article 290 of the Russian Criminal Code (taking a bribe on an especially large scale) provides for various punishments — from a fine of three million rubles (about $33,333 at current rates) to 15 years in prison. Part 5 of Article 291 of the Russian Criminal Code (giving a bribe on an especially large scale) carries a punishment of a fine of two million rubles (about $22,222 at current rates) to 15 years in prison. Part 4 of Article 291.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (mediation in bribery) — from a fine of one million rubles (about $11,111 at current rates) to 12 years in prison.
