The Samara Regional Court upheld the legality of the lower court«s decision. It concerned the recovery of a large sum of money to the state from a former municipal employee of Tolyatti and her husband.

«Initially, the Central District Court of Tolyatti satisfied the prosecutor»s claim against the former leading specialist of the department for organizing sports events of the Physical Culture and Sports Administration of the city administration and her husband. The basis was that in 2022, the couple«s bank accounts received funds exceeding their total official income for the previous three years by more than 2.5 million rubles (about $27,800). The defendants could not document the legality of the origin of these funds,» commented the prosecutor«s office of the Samara Region.

It was clarified that one of the defendants wanted to appeal the decision, but the Samara Regional Court, having considered the appeal, left the verdict unchanged.

«The supervisory agency continues to monitor the actual execution of the court decision on the recovery of funds to the income of the Russian Federation,» added the prosecutor«s office.

On the eve of the New Year, prosecutors initiated a more serious confiscation of property. This concerns the former pioneer camp «Chaika» in the green zone of Tolyatti, whose land and property have been in illegal possession for more than 10 years.
