The Samara Regional Court confirmed the legality of the lower court«s decision. It concerned the recovery of a large sum of money to the state from a former municipal employee of Tolyatti and her husband.

«Initially, the Central District Court of Tolyatti satisfied the prosecutor»s claim against the former leading specialist of the department for organizing physical culture and sports events of the Administration«s Physical Culture and Sports Department and her spouse. The basis was that in 2022, the couple»s bank accounts received funds exceeding their total official income for the previous three years by more than 2.5 million rubles (approximately $25,000 at current rates). The defendants were unable to document the legality of the origin of these funds,« commented the Samara Regional Prosecutor»s Office.

They clarified that one of the defendants wanted to appeal the decision, but the Samara Regional Court, having considered the appeal, left the verdict unchanged.

«Supervision over the actual execution of the court decision on the recovery of funds to the income of the Russian Federation continues to be carried out by the supervisory authority,» added the prosecutor«s office.

On the eve of the New Year, prosecutors initiated a more serious property confiscation. This concerns the former pioneer camp «Chaika» in the green zone of Tolyatti, whose land and property had been in illegal possession for over 10 years.
