Dagestani stabs friend, attempts to burn family alive

In Dagestan, the prosecutor«s office has sent one of the most serious criminal cases of recent months to court. It concerns a brutal crime that occurred in Khasavyurt in November 2025.

As reported by the prosecutor«s office, an indictment has been approved against a local resident. According to the investigation, the man, while under the influence of drugs, came to the apartment of his acquaintance. A conflict arose between them, which ended in tragedy — the accused inflicted multiple stab wounds on the homeowner. The man died on the spot from his injuries.

After that, according to the investigation, the attacker continued the assault. He stabbed the common-law wife of the deceased and his 10-year-old daughter. Another child was also in the apartment — a baby born in 2025.

Realizing that the woman and children were still alive, the accused, as law enforcement believes, decided to finish the crime and set the apartment on fire, intending to kill everyone inside.

Before fleeing, the man stole money and valuables worth about 230,000 rubles (approximately $2,600 at current rates).

Due to circumstances beyond the accused«s control, the victims managed to escape the burning apartment and call emergency services. Thanks to timely medical assistance, the woman and children survived.

Now the man must face trial on several serious articles of the Criminal Code — he is charged under Part 1 of Article 105 (murder), Part 3 of Article 30, points «a», «v», «d», «e», «z», «k» of Part 2 of Article 105 (attempted murder), Part 3 of Article 30, point «v» of Part 5 of Article 132 (attempted violent acts of a sexual nature), Part 3 of Article 30, point «v» of Part 5 of Article 131 (attempted rape), Part 2 of Article 162 (robbery), Part 2 of Article 167 (intentional destruction of another«s property), Part 1 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of moderate harm to health).

The criminal case has been sent for consideration on the merits to the Khasavyurt City Court.
