Court Sentences Administrator of Underground Casino on Krasny Prospekt
A resident of Novosibirsk, Alexander G., was sentenced to two years of probation for organizing an underground casino. The verdict was handed down by the Zayeltsovsky District Court. This was reported by the region«s group of courts of general jurisdiction on VKontakte.
The man performed the roles of administrator and security guard at the gambling establishment on Krasny Prospekt. He ensured the uninterrupted operation of the hall and controlled visitor access, the court clarified.
The investigation had charged Alexander G. with organizing gambling activities as part of an organized group (Part 3 of Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). However, the court concluded that he acted alone, so the charge was reclassified to a less severe article.
The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
Earlier, a former anti-corruption fighter received a suspended sentence for providing «roof» or protection to a casino: he cooperated extensively with the investigation.
