Court in Tula postpones hearing over grenade blast on Kutuzova

In Tula, another court hearing in the criminal case related to a grenade explosion in an apartment on Kutuzova Street, which occurred in late August 2025, has been postponed. This was reported by the unified press service of the judicial system of Tula Region.
The incident happened on August 29, 2025. A drunk 38-year-old man from Tula detonated a grenade in his apartment, where a woman was present at the time. She was hospitalized with leg injuries.
On November 28, 2025, a man who sold the grenade to the Tula resident was sentenced — he was convicted to 5 years and 9 months of imprisonment.
Court hearings for the perpetrator of the explosion are still ongoing. They took place on December 24 and January 19. Two defense witnesses were questioned and written evidence was examined.
Currently, the accused in the grenade explosion on Kutuzova is in a pre-trial detention center. The court hearing was postponed at the defense«s request, to summon and interrogate another witness.
It will take place on January 29.
The man faces up to 15 years of imprisonment on the charges. Aggravating circumstances include a prior criminal record and alcohol intoxication.
