In Izhevsk, the acting head of the main architecture and urban planning department has been left in custody. Dmitry Fomin is accused of receiving a bribe, according to the united press service of the courts of Udmurtia.
Recall that on 25 December 2025, the official received a bribe of 200,000 rubles (approximately $2,000 at current rates) from a construction company. In return, Fomin was to provide patronage to the firm, specifically to facilitate the acceleration of the approval of the territory planning project and to assist in changing the permitted use of the land plot.
A criminal case was initiated under clause «v» of part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, «Receiving a bribe on a large scale».
By the decision of the Industrial District Court on 27 December, Fomin was sent to a pre-trial detention center (SIZO) for two months, until 26 February 2026. However, the accused and his lawyer attempted to seek a change in the preventive measure through the Supreme Court. According to them, Fomin does not intend to hide from law enforcement agencies, so he could be released from custody.
Nevertheless, the Supreme Court found the decision of the court of first instance lawful and left it in force. Fomin will remain in the pre-trial detention center until 26 February.
