9 years and fine for attempted FSB bribe

A resident from Central Asia will be sent to a strict regime colony for nine years and pay a fine of 6.4 million rubles (about $64,000 at current rates) for attempting to bribe an FSB officer in Yakutia. This was reported by the press service of the department.
The 46-year-old man was to be deported from the country, but he decided to try to cancel the decision and offered the officer a bribe of a particularly large amount. After investigative measures, he was detained.
In January 2026, an inspector of the migration subdivision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yakutia (MVD) was sentenced to 7 years and 7 months in prison for receiving bribes and using his official position to allow citizens of Kyrgyzstan to stay in the country illegally. Several residents of Yakutsk were involved in organizing illegal migration, but their cases were considered separately.
