Zabaykalsky Krai shows rare camera-trap footage
Camera traps document deer, roe deer, black grouse, and a fleeing predator’s tail.
Minprirody Zabaykalia — the Ministry of Natural Resources of Zabaykalsky Krai (Russia) — presented rare footage from the lives of wild animals, captured by camera traps. This was reported on 2 October on the ministry’s Telegram channel.
«The camera traps of the region’s Ministry of Natural Resources captured remarkable scenes from the everyday life of our region’s wildlife. Among the shots, the photographs of a fawn calmly grazing in a meadow, enjoying fresh grasses, stand out in particular. A roe deer doe is engrossed in eating the young leaves of shrubs», — the post reads.
In addition, one of the frames shows several curious black grouse carefully surveying the surroundings before taking off. A group of ravens also strolls by, striding confidently among the trees.
«And here is another unique photograph: a barely perceptible gray silhouette of a predator moves quickly along the forest edge. Unfortunately, it was not possible to capture the animal in full — the camera managed to record only the tip of its tail disappearing behind dense shrubs», — the channel added.
