A resident of Bashkortostan complained about a Ufa veterinary clinic due to the death of her pet. According to Kamilla, she brought her 2-year-old Bengal cat named Loki, who was suffering from acute urinary retention, to the «Animal Health Center» on Aurora Street, where he died.

“At first, they told me that everything was stable, he was eating, getting better. But they said that urethrostomy would be needed, the operation would cost 20,000 rubles ($200 at current rates). I replied: ‘Do it, of course, but I don«t know how much longer I can afford to keep the cat with them. I posted a video on social media, people helped me with money. On the day of the operation, they informed me that the cat had suddenly gotten worse, the operation was postponed, and that he might not survive the night,’ ” Kamilla, Loki»s owner, told UFA1.RU.

After that, according to Kamilla, she took the animal to another institution for a blood transfusion, and then returned it to the same clinic. A few days later, she was informed that the cat«s bladder had burst, and later — that he had died.

“ ‘They started telling me that Loki allegedly had sepsis from the start. But according to the tests I have, sepsis has not been confirmed to this day,’ ” Kamilla expressed outrage.

She claims that in total she paid the clinic more than 90,000 rubles ($900 at current rates). The veterinarian denies the accusations of the animal»s death, and the center refuses to refund the money for the treatment. UFA1.RU contacted the institution to get explanations about the situation from its employees. The company«s representatives promised to call back, but never did, but later published an »official statement« on their social media page.

In it, the center»s employees called Kamilla«s complaints on social media a »coordinated information attack« and threatened consequences for damaging their reputation. According to them, the subsequent user comments were made by minor users who were »intentionally provoked into emotions — anger and pity.«

“ ‘Such actions we regard as harassment and bullying towards the clinic and its employees,’ ” stated the establishment.

However, they did not provide more details about the course of Loki»s treatment at the veterinary clinic, citing professional ethics.

“ ‘We do not comment on cases from practice and do not discuss patients in public space,’ ” wrote the representatives of the center.

Kamilla, in turn, insists that she told about Loki not «for hype» or monetary compensation, but solely because the circumstances of her beloved pet«s death raise questions for her. She states that she does not want something similar to happen to other people»s animals. According to Kamilla, she will take further actions regarding the clinic after discussing the situation with a lawyer.
