In Surgut, a Shih Tzu puppy has been put up for sale, with an asking price of a staggering 1.5 million rubles (approximately $15,000 at current rates). The seller claims it was brought from «the most decent and responsible kennel in China.»
«Early booking is offered for a most luxurious female Shih Tzu. Born on September 30. Expected adult size is 1.6–2 kilograms (3.5–4.4 pounds) and 21–22 centimeters (8.3–8.7 inches). Jokes about exchanging for an apartment and the like are not funny and even less intelligent, but only indicate the level of thinking,» the advertisement states.
According to ancient manuscripts, the first Shih Tzu puppy was gifted to a Chinese emperor in 1653. After that, these distinctive dogs were regarded as imperial court dogs, living solely in the ruler«s quarters. It wasn»t until the tumultuous 20th century that the breed emerged from obscurity, becoming beloved household pets known for their unique looks and companionable nature.
