The Balakovo prosecutor«s office has held the organizer of a mobile animal exhibition administratively liable after incidents that injured visitors, including a five-year-old girl.

As reported by the press service of the Saratov Region prosecutor«s office, the inspection was conducted regarding an individual entrepreneur who organized the zoo-exhibition in the Orange shopping center on Minskaya Street.

It was established that the entrepreneur violated legislation on environmental protection and natural resource management. The organizers did not ensure visitor safety, allowed direct contact with animals that posed a threat to human health. The exhibition lacked specially equipped areas for feeding, walking, and resting animals.

Based on the inspection results, administrative proceedings were initiated for violating the rules of using wildlife objects. The court fined the entrepreneur 20,000 rubles (about $200).

The inspection was initiated after an emergency – in January, a five-year-old zoo visitor was bitten by a monkey. This was the second such incident recently. In early December, a 27-year-old woman was admitted to the same hospital after contact with a monkey from this zoo.
