Centenarian surrenders cat; Perm shelter seeks home for elderly feline

After being groomed due to matted fur, Annona«s coat is already starting to regrow, giving her a unique appearance.
The new resident of the Perm shelter «Matroskin» is an elderly cat named Annona. Her owner is 100 years old and can no longer care for the animal due to health issues. They are now looking for a home for the cat.
As told by the shelter, Annona was handed over to them by a centenarian woman. The pensioner«s health no longer allowed her to care for her beloved pet, and relatives refused to take her, so she asked to find a new owner for the cat.
Upon arriving at the new place, the cat was scared and took a long time to get used to the unfamiliar surroundings and people. The staff needed a lot of love and patience to win her over.
The shelter recorded a video to support Annona, highlighting how her head movements resemble those of a little owl.
Annona herself is elderly — she is about 10 years old, but she is healthy. The shelter suspects that she has a Persian mix in her genes, so her character includes traits typical of this breed — willfulness and a need for attention. The cat is affectionate, calm, and likes to be surrounded by balanced people. They are now looking for new owners for her.
Annona«s fur was very matted, so it was cut off, leaving only on her face. Because of this, the cat now looks like a little owl.
“Annona is a true cat grandma, we would like her old age to be dignified and for her to be loved in a new family,” say the shelter staff. “Annona might seem like a prickly hedgehog who won«t let anyone near her. But love and care will surely melt her heart. Therefore, Annona will need some time to adapt in a new home.”
