A compilation of various cat sale listings from Ryazan classifieds.

If you«ve long dreamed of getting a cat but haven»t taken the plunge, we suggest checking out sale advertisements. However, be prepared for prices that might shock you. A correspondent from YA62.RU reviewed offers for selling fluffy companions and compiled a selection for you, from the most expensive to those available for free.

From the lineage of King Arthur«s cats for 3 million rubles (approximately $30,000)

The Scottish Fold cat advertised for 3 million rubles.

This ad caught my eye first, and it«s understandable, since the price, to put it mildly, is high. Yuri Rusakov is selling an adult Scottish Fold cat.

The seller resides in the Moskovsky District of Ryazan.

The cat, if you believe the description, is not ordinary. His pedigree traces back to the royal chambers of King Arthur, William Wallace, Edward IV, Connor MacLeod, and the royal court of the ruling dynasty of Great Britain. Moreover, according to the description, he charges those around him with the energy of well-being. All this sounds quite unusual. Why is such a treasure being sold? Quoting the ad: «The reason for sale is banal: half the district comes to us with bottles to charge water with energy so that there«s no way out of the house…»

Claims of noble lineage for the expensive feline.

According to the specifications, the cat has all vaccinations, a pedigree certificate, and is sterilized. He is 6 years old and very affectionate and friendly.

Described as an affectionate and energetic pet.

We contacted the seller and inquired: is the information in the ad reliable and is this cat really worth 3 million rubles?

Everything really turned out to be true. Yuri told us that the cat came to him from Novorossiysk and he has all the documents confirming his «noble origin». According to the seller, the cat was attempted to be exchanged for a goat for 200 rubles and to give him a blood transfusion. Why this was needed, he didn«t explain, perhaps they thought he really has blue blood. By the way, next month Yuri plans to raise the price of the cat to 4 million rubles (approximately $40,000).

Honestly, I never fully understood if the man was joking or not, but he spoke more than seriously, so there is reason to believe that the price is more than real.

From royal cats, let«s move to less aristocratic but also not cheap ones

A true home decoration — British Shorthair cat

British Shorthair kitten with a price of 55,000 rubles.

For 55,000 rubles (approximately $550), a kitten is being sold, whose breed is also called British Golden Chinchilla. The kitten is chipped, has a veterinary passport, a pedigree certificate, and vaccinations on schedule. The animal is described as friendly, stately, and luxurious. «The kitten will become a true decoration of your home», writes the seller. The ad also states that cats from this seller have a unique golden color. However, the price for each kitten is different and needs to be specified.

Oriental kitten for 50,000 rubles (approximately $500)

A kitten priced at 55,000 rubles in the advertisement.

A male of this breed is being sold only to good and responsible homes. But the ad itself says nothing about documents for the cat, a pedigree certificate, or vaccinations. It only says that the kitten was born in April 2025. He is presented as «in a wonderful modern type from purebred parents with an excellent pedigree». The kitten is described as thin, vocal, with good ears, fur the color of dark chocolate, and «greening» eyes. We called the seller and found out that the necessary documents for the kitten are indeed missing. Whether to buy a «pig in a poke» is up to you to decide.

European Burmese kitten for 49,999 rubles (approximately $500)

Burmese kittens being sold in the Sovetsky District.

This kitten is still very small, according to the ad information, she was born (female, by the way) on October 10. She has a pedigree certificate, pedigree, and veterinary passport. All vaccinations on schedule have been done. However, the kitten has not been chipped or sterilized yet. The seller describes her as active, friendly, kind, curious, and leisurely. The kitten«s parents are titled exhibition champions, the kitten is litter-trained and familiar with feeding rules.

And what is offered cheaper?

Scottish Fold Shorthair kitten for 3,000 rubles (approximately $30)

Scottish Fold kittens available for much lower prices.

Yes, this is a kitten of the same breed as the first one in our selection for 3 million rubles. It would seem, why pay a thousand times more? But there is a possibility that it«s about the documents and vaccinations, which are missing for the 3,000 ruble kitten, as well as the lack of information about the parents. A male and female are offered for choice. The kittens were born in March. Whatever the case with documents, they look very cute in the photo.

The kittens appear quite adorable in images.

Bengal kittens for 3,500 rubles (approximately $35)

Bengal mix kittens priced at 3,500 rubles.

These kittens were born from a mix of Maine Coon and Bengal. They also don«t have a passport, pedigree certificate, or chipping, but at least they have parasite treatment. The seller describes them as friendly, playful, and curious. They are litter-trained and know how to use a scratching post. Females are being sold.

Non-pedigree kittens, but free

Non-pedigree kittens offered at no cost.

Two very cute cats are being given away for free to good homes. They also don«t have documents, but the animals have undergone parasite treatment. Black and white — male, and gray — female. They are about 3.5–4 months old. The seller reports that she found them on the street. The kittens are described as affectionate, beautiful, and curious.

What to pay attention to when buying a cat from a classifieds website?

We asked veterinarian Ekaterina Antonova about this:

«In most cases, I don«t recommend buying animals there at all. But if you still decide, you must go and see it with your own eyes. And besides, pay attention to the conditions in which the animal is kept: is the apartment/house clean, are the cat»s eyes not running, does it not smell unpleasant, what is it fed. On the spot, it«s better to immediately check all the documents. Unfortunately, statistics say that very often on free classifieds websites, animals with health problems are sold and this is not disclosed. Ideally, go with the seller to a veterinarian with the animal to get an independent opinion.»
