Cat abandoned in Perm frost now seeks loving home

The Matroskin Shelter is finding a home for a cat that was abandoned by its owners. She almost froze to death after being left out in the bitter cold.

Last winter, a very frightened cat was brought to the Matroskin Shelter. The little one was aggressively disposed and showed in every way that she trusted no one.

“The people who brought her said that the cat was abandoned and had to survive in basements during the frosts,” the Matroskin Shelter told 59.RU. “They felt sorry for her and brought her to us. The cat was so frightened that she curled up into a ball.”

At first, the animal hid and did not come out to the shelter staff. They needed a lot of patience to win over the little one, who was named Queen. After a few months, the cat started to come out and show interest in people, and later — to allow petting and being picked up.

Queen was moved to the Kotovsky cat cafe on Monastyrskaya Street and is now looking for owners. She still regards cafe visitors with caution — she watches them from a distance.

“She just needs time to get used to and trust a person,” they say at the shelter. “If you take her home, then after some time she will get used to the new owner and show how affectionate she is.”

The cat is about 4–5 years old, she is spayed, vaccinated, and healthy.
