Frosts in Yaroslavl to Continue in First Week of February

February began after January, which brought record frosts, strong winds, and snowfalls to the Yaroslavl region. Meteorologists from the Fobos center have presented the forecast for the first week of the new month.
«Frosts will continue — until the end of the first five-day period of February, the average air temperature will be 8–12°C below the climatic norm,» specialists from Fobos reported for Central Russia.
The Ministry of Regional Security of the Yaroslavl Region warned of unfavorable conditions on February 1: wind gusts strengthening to 12-17 m/s, a blizzard, and visibility reduction to 300-800 meters.
The department recommended that residents check the draft in smoke and ventilation channels when using gas. Pedestrians should be careful on the streets, and drivers should observe the speed limit.
According to the Fobos forecast, on February 1, Yaroslavl is expected to have variable cloudiness, heavy snow, and fog. The air temperature will be -14…16°C (approximately 7°F to 3°F).
