In Novosibirsk, heavy snowfalls are not expected in February. The West Siberian Hydrometeorological Service reported this to an NGS correspondent. Over the past three months, for the first time in a hundred years, Novosibirsk has already received a huge amount of snow.

«Currently, there is high atmospheric pressure, so the temperature background is more calm. We do not expect snowfalls in the first decade. Light snow is expected more in the second half of the month,» explained Natalya Kichanova, head of the weather forecast department at the West Siberian Hydrometeorological Service.

Residents should prepare for a serious thaw. In the period of February 6–7, daytime temperatures may rise to 0 degrees Celsius (32°F) and above.
