Sochi to Resume Hidden Patrolling for Bus Schedule Checks
Sochi authorities have ordered transport companies to monitor evening routes and driver appearance, as the city reintroduces covert patrols to verify schedule adherence.

In Sochi, hidden patrolling will be introduced for city buses to check how drivers follow the schedule. This decision was made at a meeting chaired by Sochi Deputy Mayor Vyacheslav Bauer. Last year, about 82 million people were transported on regular routes in Sochi — a figure similar to 2024. More than 2.8 million trips were completed.
— In this work, we rely, among other things, on citizens« appeals to the resort administration. Therefore, special control is placed on the full execution of routes and the quality of transport services provided to the population. In this regard, we will resume the practice of hidden patrolling to check schedule adherence and the sanitary condition of buses. Carriers have also been instructed to enhance work on executing evening routes and monitoring drivers» appearance. Besides, we plan to continue participating in state programs for updating the rolling stock, — said Bauer.
In 2025, as part of the federal project «Development of Automotive and Transport Engineering» with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, 75 medium and small class buses were purchased for Sochi. They are equipped with surveillance cameras, air conditioners, auto-announcers, and also the «Talking City» sound orientation system. It helps blind and visually impaired passengers.
Carriers have also been instructed to strengthen driver briefings on compliance with traffic rules, mandatory wearing of uniforms, and correct behavior towards passengers, especially seniors and children. By March 1, motor transport enterprises must prepare plans for bus repairs before the summer resort season, reports the press service of the Sochi administration.
