The first stage of creating a major transport ring around the Samara region will start this year. Train service on the Syzran — Zhiguli Sea (Tolyatti) route will open on May 1. This was announced by the head of the Kuibyshev Railway at a press conference.

«This step will become the foundation for the future launch of a full-fledged circular route that will connect Samara, Tolyatti, and Syzran, significantly improving the transport connectivity of the agglomeration. The project has been approved by the Ministry of Transport and Highways of the Samara Region and taken into the state order. Currently, technical parameters are being determined to start the route with two pairs of commuter trains,» said Vyacheslav Dmitriev.

The head of the Kuibyshev Railway noted that the successful launch and operation of the first link «Syzran — Tolyatti» will be a determining factor for the further development of the project. It is on the basis of this experience that technical issues for organizing full circular traffic will be resolved.

For passengers who use long-distance trains, there is another piece of good news. In March 2026, the route of train No. 105/106 «Orenburg — St. Petersburg» will be changed to now include a stop at Tolyatti station.
