Nizhny Novgorod has decided to postpone the reconstruction of a tram track section from Igarskaya Street to the «Avtozavodskaya Metro Station» stop. The work was scheduled to begin on February 1. The reasons were reported by the company «Ekologicheskiye Proekty» (Environmental Projects).

During the future works, the routes of two tram lines — No. 8 and 417 — will be shortened. They will only run to the «Avtozavodskaya Metro Station» stop on Lenin Avenue.

For the next three weeks, trams will continue to run on the current schedule. The decision to postpone the work is due to bad weather. Too much snow has accumulated on the section, and there is currently nowhere to put it. The reconstruction is now intended to start on February 21.

Also, from February 1, renovation of another tram track section is scheduled to begin. This concerns the turnaround loop in the Lapshikha neighborhood. Because of this, tram routes No. 27 and 18 will be redirected along changed routes, and No. 19 will temporarily stop running. Read more about this in this article.
