Geely Driver Crashes into Lada Granta During Overtaking
On the afternoon of January 27, a serious accident with casualties occurred on a highway in Trunovsky District. The crash happened around 1:00 PM at the 26th kilometer of the «Izobilny — Trunovskoye — Kugulta» road.
According to preliminary data from the State Traffic Inspectorate, a 50-year-old driver of a Geely car, while performing an overtake, did not ensure the safety of the maneuver and drove into the oncoming lane. There, the Geely collided with a Lada Granta, driven by a 57-year-old man.
The impact was serious. As a result of the accident, the driver of the domestic car and a passenger in the Geely sustained injuries and were hospitalized in a medical facility.
As clarified by traffic inspectors, the Geely driver is a local resident with 27 years of driving experience. Moreover, in recent years, he has been held administratively liable 37 times for traffic violations.
Currently, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate are establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the degree of responsibility of each of the participants in the accident.
