Torpedo signs contract with Danil Avershin

The Torpedo hockey club announced the signing of a contract with forward Danil Avershin. The transfer took place as part of a trade with HC Sochi, with defenseman Ivan Khokhlov moving in the opposite direction.
Avershin is 23 years old. He began his career with Dynamo and Spartak, where he even served as captain. The hockey player has played for Russian youth national teams and won the Glinka/Gretzky Cup (a junior hockey tournament). In the KHL, he made his debut at 18, playing for Spartak and Sochi.
The contract with the newcomer is two-way, allowing him to play for both the main Torpedo team and the farm club Torpedo-Gorky in the VHL.
Representatives of the Nizhny Novgorod club commented on the transfer: «We welcome the rookie to Nizhny Novgorod, and also thank Ilya Khokhlov for his play in Torpedo. We wish the defenseman success with his new team!»
Earlier, Torpedo conducted another trade, acquiring goalie Dmitry Shugayev and forward Igor Geraskin from the Vladivostok Admiral.
