The mother of young Voronezh figure skater Elena Kostyleva and her coach Evgeni Plushenko should reconcile. This opinion was shared with TASS on December 3 by legendary coach Tatiana Tarasova.

Currently, 14-year-old Lena is in Voronezh with her parents. Due to illness, she will have to miss the Channel One Cup for juniors in Kaluga, which takes place on December 6. Tatiana Tarasova expressed hope that Kostyleva will feel well by the next competition.

“In my opinion, she is the best girl, born with such unique talent. You can say about such a child that she can do everything, it«s a rarity. She exactly can do everything, she is very capable, talented girl, and it»s very unfortunate that she fell ill. We wish her a speedy recovery and good mood in her family together with her coach. This is their personal matter, and for Lena«s sake they should meet each other halfway,” noted the coach.

The conflict between Kostyleva«s mother, Irina, and the figure skater»s coach, Evgeni Plushenko, flared up in late November. Plushenko and his wife, Yana Rudkovskaya, accused Kostyleva Sr. of abusing her daughter, with even a video appearing where Irina allegedly hits her daughter. The skater«s mother, in turn, denied the beating accusations and stated: they are ruining Lena»s career, and her parents are being forced to sign a terrible contract. All details of the scandal can be found in our materials.
