Silver medalist of the Olympic Games in speed skating Olga Fatkulina spoke about the seventh episode of the show «Titans», where she was brought to tears. The athlete published an appeal to her followers on Monday, November 3, on social media.
«When the competition started, it was already the middle of the trials for everyone, the whole season. And, of course, fatigue was accumulating,» explained the speed skater. «You say that I cry too much. Yes, that’s really true, and it terribly annoys me that I’m so emotional and can’t hold back tears. But before, I never cried at all; I was somehow stronger. Now, after I gave birth, my hormonal balance has changed a bit, and it’s very difficult for me to control it. I’m more vulnerable.»
Olga Fatkulina emphasized that she had no intention of interfering with her teammate’s jump rope exercises and disrupting his focus. Kirill Belsky was earning extra points at that moment, and everyone was interested in his result.
«I asked Kirill if I could shout out the time to him. Because as an athlete, when I’m doing some work and it’s hard for me… I ask what time it is. It helps me,» explained the speed skater. «I thought it would help Kirill too. And if it helps Kirill, it helps our team.»
The Chelyabinsk athlete understands that participants joke harshly with each other: «Somewhere it was even very funny.» However, she couldn’t control her emotions during filming, especially after a hand gesture from bobsledder Alexei Zaitsev. Nevertheless, Olga holds no grudge against the athlete.
«We discussed everything, and it was right away. It was so great that we resolved this mini-problem. We were, of course, surprised that it even made it to air. Because it was quick,» the athlete said. «I stepped away, calmed down, came back, Alexei and I discussed everything, and apologized. And it turns out, all of it was being filmed. We hoped it wouldn’t air, because they always showed other guys. We finally got more than three seconds of airtime.»
