Sverdlovsk Oblast expands list of unscrupulous construction firms
The regional Ministry of Construction has updated the registry of contractors violating shareholder rights. It now lists 25 companies and individual entrepreneurs.

The Ministry of Construction of Sverdlovsk Oblast has made changes to the list of unscrupulous contractors working in individual housing construction. According to the ministry, the registry now includes 25 companies and individual entrepreneurs, whereas in autumn there were 18.
The ministry refused to disclose the specific names of organizations against which complaints have been filed by residents of the region. «As with the registry of affected citizens, this list contains personal data and other information that is not subject to disclosure in order to comply with procedural requirements,» the ministry explained.
A request regarding the number of criminal cases initiated related to fraud in individual housing construction, sent to the Prosecutor«s Office of Sverdlovsk Oblast, remained unanswered at the time of publication.
In December of last year, the head of one construction company was arrested on suspicion of fraud. In the region, cases continue to be recorded where families who invested in construction are left without housing.
