Social media is increasingly buzzing with ads for homes priced like new smartphones. Specifically, flagship iPhone models in current configurations, which cost around 170–180 thousand rubles ($1,700–1,800 at current rates) on average today. The trend started in northern cities: Vorkuta, Murmansk, and Novy Urengoy. There, apartments and houses are sold for 100–200 thousand rubles ($1,000–2,000) — not out of generosity, but due to harsh climate, population outflow, and lack of demand. Homes stand empty for years, and owners are willing to sell them almost for nothing, just to avoid dead weight.

A correspondent from 26.RU decided to check if such a scenario is possible without polar nights and extreme climate, and to find out if you can buy a home for smartphone prices in Stavropol Krai.

The most affordable option found on a popular classifieds portal was a 24-square-meter dacha in Budyonnovsk, on the territory of the «Trudzhenik» garden non-commercial partnership. The price is 150 thousand rubles ($1,500). For this money, you can buy a small brick house and a plot of 4 hundred square meters. Naturally, forget about conveniences — there is no electricity, water, gas, or sewage.

The year the house was built, as noted by the buyer, is 1995. Among the pluses are fruitful trees: apple, quince, grape, and nearby an old riverbed, behind the Kum River.

Also for 150 thousand, there is a house with an area of 33.8 square meters in the village of Petropavlovskoye in Azgirsky Municipal District. The price is 150 thousand rubles ($1,500). For this money, you can buy a small house made of experimental materials and a plot of 10 hundred square meters. Naturally, forget about conveniences — there is only electricity, and the toilet is outside. However, there is a garage, a well, a stove, and an asphalt road leading to the house.

Additional pluses include a very large plot of land with access to vegetable gardens, which, according to the seller, is well-suited for grazing livestock. There is also a nearby shop, pharmacy, kindergarten, and school.

For 181 thousand rubles ($1,800), you can purchase a brick dacha with an area of 20 square meters and a plot of 7 hundred square meters in the «Gudok» garden partnership, 7 kilometers from the center of Nevinnomyssk.

Here, there is central water supply, a terrace, but no gas or electricity. Among the pluses are a nearby public transport stop and a railway station.

And finally, options for houses for 200 thousand rubles — exactly the price of an iPhone.

For this money, you can acquire a plot of 6 hundred square meters with a 24-square-meter house. All of this is located in the village of Tomuzlovskoye in Budyonnovsky Municipal District.

There are no utilities on the plot or in the village, as the owner admits. Also, infrastructure and any institutions are completely absent. Moreover, the building needs repairs.

There are only a few pluses — there is a veranda, television, and a parking spot. The seller himself admits that he is selling a cozy little house suitable for country vacations.

Also for 200 thousand rubles ($2,000), you can purchase a house with an area of 21 square meters and a plot of 4.4 hundred square meters in Budyonnovsk, on the territory of the «Khimik-3» garden partnership. The owner notes that the house is brick, electricity is brought to the plot boundaries, and there is the possibility of connecting electrical appliances. Gas is not installed, and there is no water supply either.

You cannot register your residence here either — the house is located on the territory of a garden non-commercial partnership.

The last option for 200 thousand is a country house with an area of 12 square meters in Novoalexandrovsky Municipal District on the territory of the «Rodnichok» garden partnership.
The amenities are outside, but here there is electricity and a well. Among the pluses are a vegetable garden on the plot and water containers for irrigating the garden and vegetable plot. The house is located 5 km from the city of Novoalexandrovsk, near railway tracks.
