Yekaterinburg Teenager's Suicide Note Explains Circumstances

The teenager who died on December 4 on Tekhnicheskaya Street, 148 in Yekaterinburg left a suicide note. Here is what is known about its contents.
«Artyom apologized to his cousin and his family, who took him in to live with them. He wrote: «I dream of my mother every night.» Before his death, he was sitting on the loggia. There, they found his backpack, keys, and the phone that his brother had given him», — a family acquaintance told E1.RU.
The mother of the 16-year-old schoolboy died from cancer in September this year. The disease was rapid, and the woman passed away in just a few months. The father had left the family even earlier and started a new one. The boy was taken in by his cousin. He moved him to Yekaterinburg and tried to arrange everything so that he lacked nothing.
«At his mother«s funeral, Artyom refused to get out of the car; they barely made him exit, and he never approached the coffin. His mother—Katya, once a flourishing woman, looked like a 70-year-old grandmother in the coffin. Illness doesn»t beautify anyone. When they started covering her with earth, he turned around and left. Artyom kept hoping until the last moment that his father Denis would come to the funeral. But he didn«t come, sending a text: »I don«t have time, I»m at work.« When Artyom read that, he had a hysterical fit. He cried: »No one needs me.« They gave him a sedative pill. Two months before that, he went to see his father. He returned after an hour and burst into tears: in that family, they didn»t even invite him to the table», — our interlocutor said.
The Investigative Committee of Russia (SKR) is refraining from comments. They are conducting their own investigation, examining the schoolboy«s personal belongings and correspondence, and interviewing relatives, teachers, and classmates.
The farewell for Artyom took place today in his hometown of Kamyshlov (Sverdlovsk Oblast), in a funeral salon opposite the morgue, at Kuibysheva Street, 114a. The editorial staff of E1.RU joins in condolences.
