Yekaterinburg Grinch Gang Steals Christmas Tree, Children Upset
Local residents« annual tradition of decorating a yard Christmas tree was interrupted by a group of young people.
In the Uktus neighborhood, at 63 Pokhodnaya Street, a real «Grinch» gang has appeared. At night, they stole the Christmas tree that local residents had set up for the children.
«Our children are all in tears, the holiday is ruined. We»ve been putting up the tree for five years in a row, and this is the first time something like this has happened. These people live in neighboring buildings, we tracked their path, we know which building and which floor they live on. For now, we want to resolve this peacefully, but if they don«t get in touch, we»ll go file a police report,« local resident Tatyana told E1.RU.
The theft was captured by a surveillance camera (you can watch the footage just above). The footage shows three young people — two guys and one girl — grabbing the tree and running home. Judging by the elevator footage, the theft was planned in advance. All members of the «Grinch» gang covered their faces with masks.
Unfortunately, such cases are not uncommon. Last year in the Svetly neighborhood, three drunk holiday thieves dragged Christmas trees from the entrance and broke them. They were also recorded by a surveillance camera.
