Tuapse Resident Appeals to Authorities After Drone Attack

At the end of November, a resident of Tuapse lost her apartment after a UAV attack. Yevgenia Tretyakova told 93.RU that the strike occurred around two in the morning and the fire started instantly. She and her daughter were not injured, but the woman faced bureaucracy. She was promised an emergency payment — 156,000 rubles (approximately $1,560 at current rates) per person, but this amount does not cover housing compensation.
‘The prospect they outlined for me — to receive a certificate for 4-5 million rubles (approximately $40,000-$50,000 at current rates) by giving my current apartment to the state — did not make me happy,’ wrote Yevgenia.
On December 8, Yevgenia recorded an appeal to district head Sergey Boiko. The video was posted by local public pages. In the video, the woman stands in front of her destroyed apartment and talks about the city«s problems that the authorities cannot solve.
The video shows the resident appealing to the district head amid her destroyed apartment.
‘I am addressing you, Sergey Alexandrovich Boiko, head of the Tuapse district. We met with you the very next day after the drone explosion, here in my apartment. And then I saw that you, like any normal person, were shocked. I saw that you care. And then hope sparked in my soul. Later, you held a meeting and assured me that this apartment would be restored to a finished condition in the shortest possible time. I really want to believe you. But, unfortunately, Sergey Alexandrovich, I do not believe you. <…> You must admit the fact that today Tuapse and the Tuapse district as a whole have turned into a real dump,’ said Yevgenia.
The woman noted that city residents live in unsanitary conditions — with trash and stray dogs on the streets. She also pointed out that utility accidents often occur in the city.
Moreover, Yevgenia is outraged that the local chamber orchestra has a small building with wooden windows sealed with film, and the ceiling is collapsing. The Tuapse artists also lack their own hall and are forced to exhibit paintings on the streets. Additionally, according to the woman, the art school is located in a five-story building but should be in a separate facility.
Yevgenia Tretyakova concluded that it is very difficult for her to fight ‘the apathy and laziness of the apparatus’ and asked Sergey Boiko to ‘get to work’.
