Third Victim Dies in Nizhny Novgorod After Explosion

An explosion of a training simulation grenade occurred on January 15 at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) training center in Syktyvkar. As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Komi Republic, the incident happened in the assembly hall, where a teacher activated the device.
At the time of the incident, repair work was underway in the room. Nearby construction materials caught fire, leading to a fire.
As a result of the explosion, more than thirty people were injured. Two of them previously died in hospitals. The third seriously injured person was transported to Nizhny Novgorod on January 21 for treatment at the burn center of PIMU, but it was not possible to save him.
Earlier in the Nizhny Novgorod region, as a result of a road traffic accident near Arzamas, three employees of the Corporation for Industry and Entrepreneurship were killed. The head of the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade, Maxim Cherkasov, expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
