Third Heating Pipe Burst Cuts Heat to Two Homes

For the third time in the past month, a heating main break in Zabaikalsky Krai, this time occurring in the village of Yásnaya in the Olovyanninsky District, has left residents of two apartment buildings without heating. Excavations are currently underway there. This was reported on 23 January in his Telegram channel by Alexei Goncharov, deputy chairman of the regional government.

The leak in the heating network was detected today at 06:30 in the morning. At 14:20, the break was discovered near an apartment building. Work is now underway to excavate the site; the pipe is buried at a depth of one meter.

Two buildings at 10 and 12 Lenin Street will require heating to be shut off during the repair work.

Water delivery has been organized using three trucks to storage tanks with a capacity of 120 tons to maintain circulation in the system.

The deputy chairman reported that he is keeping the situation under control, and hourly monitoring of the boiler house operating parameters has been organized.

Initially, the heating main break was reported by a local resident, and the head of the settlement, Tatyana Levkovskaya, confirmed the information.

The first break of the central heating main occurred in Atamanovka on the afternoon of 30 December. It could not be quickly fixed, and as a result, settlement residents celebrated the New Year in cold apartments. On 1 January, the boiler house was started at full capacity, but then a new heating main break occurred in the settlement—on Tselinnaya Street, and it was soon eliminated. Due to the Atamanovka incident, investigators also initiated a criminal case on negligence, as about 3,000 people were left without heat. From 30 December, a municipal state of emergency was in effect in Atamanovka.

The second heating main break occurred in Darasun on 21 January. Because of it, the Investigative Committee also initiated a criminal case on negligence.

The 2025/2026 heating season in Zabaikalsky Krai is proving difficult. Just in the last few days, several accidents have occurred—for example, in Darasun, due to a heating main break, people have been without heat for three days. On 23 January, the resource company handling repairs reported that repairs were almost complete. Besides this, in Dauria on 19 January, a water pipe burst, leaving some houses without water. There, they also promise to finish the work within the day.
