Teenager Arrested for Murder in Kingisepp

A 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old teenager are accused of murder committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy in the Kingiseppsky District of Leningrad Oblast. Both suspects have been arrested and refused to give testimony.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred in June of last year on the outskirts of Kingisepp. During an argument, the accused beat the victim, striking vital organs, which led to his death. After that, they hid the body by covering it with logs and branches.

The cause of the conflict, according to preliminary information, was the victim«s offensive words towards the mother of the older accused. It is also noted that the deceased led a marginalized lifestyle.

The man«s body was discovered at the end of June. He was not wearing shoes, and his pants were pulled down to his knees. Initially, experts did not record obvious signs of a violent death, which could be due to the body»s prolonged exposure in a damp place.

The murder investigation was handled by an interdepartmental analytical investigative-operational group under the leadership of the head of the investigative department for Leningrad Oblast, Sergey Sazin. Thanks to the joint actions of investigators and police, the suspects were apprehended.

Both accused exercised their right not to testify against themselves under Article 51 of the Russian Constitution. The court authorized their detention in custody.
