The teacher from Alexeyevsky, Olga Gardikhanova, who fell into a coma in Egypt, has been transported to Kazan, to the Republican Clinical Hospital (RKB). This information was confirmed to a 116.RU correspondent by the hospital«s press service.

She is in the intensive care unit. Her condition is assessed as stably serious, she remains in a coma and is connected to a ventilator.

As reported to us by the RKB press service, Gardikhanova was brought to Kazan today, January 30.

«By plane from Moscow. From the airport by ambulance to us,» they told us.

It is still unknown how Olga was transported to Kazan. Earlier, the victim«s son, Ruslan Gardikhanov, told a 116.RU correspondent that family acquaintances opened a fundraiser and collected part of the necessary amount—one million rubles (approx. $11,000 at current rates).

Recall that the 51-year-old teacher fell ill on January 4 immediately after arriving in Sharm el-Sheikh, right at the airport. She was hospitalized, diagnosed with a stroke, and was in a coma. She underwent surgery there.

After returning to her homeland, her son tried to find a way to transport his mother home, but private companies requested 13 million rubles (approx. $143,000 at current rates) for this, which was too expensive for the family.

Our interlocutor also noted that Olga had previous health problems: she had already suffered an ischemic stroke, and also suffers from hypertension and diabetes. The hospital in Egypt gave no prognosis.
