In Ufa, a native of Central Asia has been arrested, accused of preparing a terrorist attack. Days earlier, he was detained by security forces while walking on the street, and the alleged leader of the group was killed when he resisted.

Enhanced security was deployed at the Kirovsky District Court for the suspect«s appearance.

As reported by the Kirovsky District Court, the man has been charged under two articles: participation in a terrorist organization and preparation of a terrorist attack by a group of persons. According to the Federal Security Service (FSB), two newcomers wanted to carry out «jihad» in Ufa: first to stage an explosion, and then to shoot police officers.

The surviving suspect was brought to court under enhanced security. The investigation proposed his arrest, as he might flee or «put pressure on witnesses». The judge agreed with the arguments.

«The accused has been selected for a preventive measure in the form of detention for 1 month 26 days, that is, until March 18, 2026. The ruling has not entered into legal force,» the court reported.

If the migrant«s guilt is recognized, for each of the charges alone, he faces up to 20 years.
