Thirty-year-old Mikhail Yemelyanov went missing in Thailand on 7 January 2026. The man stopped communicating after a meeting with a business partner. Today, his remains were found in five different locations not far from a local pond. Here is everything known about the incident.

Mikhail disappeared under mysterious circumstances 23 days ago. According to the Telegram channel Baza, he warned his family in advance that if he did not respond within two hours, they should raise the alarm and start searching. After that, he went to meet with his business partner.

He managed to send his relatives a photo of his associate, the address of his house, and contact details, and asked them to track his geolocation. Soon after, contact with the man was lost, and following his instructions, his family began the search.

The 30-year-old businessman«s mother flew to Thailand and filed a missing person report with the local police. Law enforcement launched an investigation.

«During the investigation, threatening messages were discovered demanding the repayment of a debt exceeding $120,000 (over 9 million rubles, at current rates),» according to a report from the publication Pattaya News.

Police believe the motive for Mikhail«s murder is linked to this unpaid debt, which reportedly arose from a failed partnership. The Russian»s associate is suspected of the murder.

He has already been detained and is being questioned. Furthermore, police continue to search for other suspects who may be connected to Mikhail«s killing, including Thais and other foreigners.
