Relatives Detail Kuban Model's Beating as Attempted Murder
Angelika Tartanova«s recovery is expected to take from six months to a year.
The case of Kuban model Angelika Tartanova, found in early December in a Moscow hospital with severe head injuries, took a new turn after the broadcast of the program «Pust Govoryat» (Let Them Talk) on December 22. It was after this broadcast that the chairman of Russia«s Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered the initiation of a criminal case under a more serious article — attempted murder.
Previously, the investigation was conducted under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code («intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm»), and the alleged attacker — 40-year-old Dmitry Kuzmin — was placed under house arrest. During the broadcast, it was repeatedly emphasized that the nature of the injuries and the circumstances required a different legal assessment.

What Happened
Angelika Tartanova is a 33-year-old model from the Mostovsky District of Krasnodar Krai. Several years ago, she moved to Moscow after a divorce, leaving her parents and 16-year-old son in Kuban, who now lives with his father. In the capital, she worked in the modeling business, participating in castings and shows.
In late November, Angelika suddenly stopped contacting anyone. Relatives and friends raised the alarm: the girl was always in touch, regularly communicating with her son and loved ones. In her rented apartment, all her personal belongings were found — documents, phone, diary, and half-packed suitcases. There were no signs of a struggle, but the apartment keys were in the mailbox, and someone was reading messages on her phone without responding.
On December 9, Angelika was found in one of Moscow«s hospitals — in the neurosurgery department. She was admitted there in critical condition, unconscious, with brain edema and hematomas. Doctors had to perform a craniotomy.
Later, the victim said that on November 23, she was brutally beaten in an apartment on Universitetsky Prospekt. The blows were directed at her head, after which she lost consciousness.
During the broadcast, Angelika«s sister was seen crying as she described the incident.

The «Pust Govoryat» (Let Them Talk) episode became the first public forum where details previously not featured in the news were voiced.
During the broadcast, it was said that the beating was not a «burst of aggression» or a single blow. According to words spoken in the studio, the violence was prolonged and systematic.
«He was an alcoholic, I know that for sure, because drunk he beat her many times, and they had scandals over it,» said the girl«s friend Nadezhda Krasnoplakhova.
Also in the program, it was stated that Angelika had been subjected to psychological pressure for a long time. The episode spoke of total control: limiting communication with relatives, bans on travel, and constant checks.
«When this Dmitry appeared in her life, our communication with her began to decrease, and less and less she was in touch,» added Nadezhda.
Separately, Angelika«s condition after the attack was discussed. During the broadcast, it was emphasized that the head injuries were so severe that it was not just about harm to health, but a real threat to life.
«Doctors cannot specify the rehabilitation timeline. That is, from six months to a year. Just recovery, to make you understand, and it»s possible that some skills may not recover. That is, the person is disabled,« noted the girl»s sister Anastasia Beloglazova.
Relatives deny accusations that Angelika abandoned her son, claiming she maintained contact.
Why Attempted Murder Was Discussed
During the broadcast, the question was repeatedly raised: could a person inflicting multiple blows to the head not realize the possible consequences?
«No animal has the right to hit a person»s head so hard,« declared Anastasia in tears.
It was also discussed that after the beating, the victim was essentially left without help. In the studio, a version was voiced that Angelika could have been unconscious for a long time, which worsened her condition.
«For me, he just wanted to kill her already. »You«ll be mine or not mine,»« concluded the victim»s sister.
