Following the tragedy at a school in the Moscow region, law enforcement detained a 15-year-old teenager, Timofey K., who is accused of attacking and killing a student. During questioning, he gave a confession. The day after the stabbing, security measures were also increased at other schools in the municipal district. Parents are afraid to send their children to school.

MSK1.RU reports on what is happening now at the school where the teenager killed a fourth-grader.

Yesterday, investigative actions took place at the school for the rest of the day: investigators and forensic experts worked there. The educational institution remains closed. According to parents, children are not studying today, and it is not yet known when they will be able to return to school.

«It«s too early to talk about the measures taken by the administration. All parents, of course, have not yet recovered from the shock,» a mother of one of the schoolchildren told MSK1.RU. «I can add from myself that I am in a state of shock. My middle child studies in another building, and my youngest is in kindergarten. Today everyone stayed home.»

A psychological consultation center has been set up at the local youth center in the settlement, where people can seek psychological help.

Parents now don«t know what to do about their children»s education. Some are afraid to send their sons and daughters, others are already thinking about homeschooling. According to one mother, they have been promised distance learning starting tomorrow.

«We«ll see after the New Year. But staying home is not an option either. Children also need socialization. Of course, round-the-clock psychological help is now organized. The stress and shock have not passed for the children and teachers,» the parent added.

There are also parents at the school who, shortly before the tragedy, asked the administration why the school had no metal detectors or other security measures.

«I will refrain from going to the school until the end of the year. It«s a mess there. We»ll study at home for now,» shared another mother.

The school remains closed as investigators continue their work and families seek psychological support.

According to unconfirmed reports, the mother of the deceased fourth-grader has flown to her hometown, likely to bury her son. Other parents could not confirm or deny this information to MSK1.RU.

Earlier, the mother of a classmate of the deceased David told MSK1.RU what is currently happening in the family experiencing the tragedy.

«What is she supposed to do? The mother has lost her son. There«s nothing to say, she»s in a terrible state. I called her sister, who said she lost consciousness and is now sleeping. There were two brothers. Now one is gone. This is a grief for all of us,» a family acquaintance shared in a conversation with MSK1.RU.

The student«s knife attack at the school in the Moscow region occurred on the morning of 16 December. The teenager went on a rampage in the school corridors. He headed towards the classrooms, where he encountered an entire class of children with a teacher. The young man sprayed a security guard with pepper spray and stabbed the man with a knife. At that moment, the teacher managed to hide the children behind doors. Already on the stairs, the teenager brutally killed the fourth-grader — the boy did not have time to run away. Children were evacuated from the building.

Shortly before the attack, the teenager sent classmates an 11-page text with calls to violence. The teenager was detained and pleaded guilty. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.

We cover the incident in more detail in a separate report.
