Norilsk Girls Moved to Rehab After Infant Starves

The two affected girls in Norilsk, whom their mother almost condemned to starvation, have been transferred to the rehabilitation department. This was reported to NGS24.RU by the regional Ministry of Health. The two children, aged one and two, are in satisfactory condition, and their lives are not in danger.

Recall that in December 2025, we reported a horrific story from the north of the region. There, a mother of many children was starving her four children. One of them — a five-month-old boy — died. Law enforcement found the child in the apartment with signs of severe exhaustion and dehydration. The two girls were placed in the hospital in serious condition.

As investigators found out, the 35-year-old Norilsk woman could have been absent from home for many days. In her place, her 15-year-old daughter was caring for the younger ones.

The woman has been charged with the murder of a minor, committed with particular cruelty. Until February 17, 2026, the Norilsk woman will be in a pre-trial detention center. She faces up to 20 years of imprisonment. As part of the criminal investigation, the 15-year-old girl was also interrogated, who was with the toddlers all three days — she explained that her mother leaving home for a long time is not the first time.
