Mechanic discharged after coma from Kazan beating

The mechanic of the auto racing team «PSM Sport» from Vladimir, Alexei Artamonov, who was beaten into a coma in Kazan, has returned home. His colleagues reported this in mid-January.

«Alexei is returning to Vladimir. Home! Thank you to all doctors, medical staff, and everyone who helped. We continue his recovery,» wrote in the Telegram channel of «PSM Sport».

Back in December, the team reported on its Telegram channel that the case had been transferred to another police department, and the investigation deadline was extended to February 10. Alexei«s colleagues believe that the video of the incident was not properly examined. However, no official comments have been received yet.

«Alexei and our engineers were attacked by at least three people, one of the attackers — a migrant — has already been identified (he is the one who delivered the fatal blow to Alexei). We demand a prompt investigation, appointment of an examination, and initiation of a case regarding the beating of the second team member — Alexander,» believe the victim«s colleagues.

Recall that in September 2025, racers and engineers came to Kazan for the Russian championship of road-circuit races. A few days before the competitions, on Pushkin Street, unknown persons attacked 41-year-old Artamonov. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the fight occurred due to an altercation between two groups of men. The instigator fled after the fight, but the police detained him and initiated a criminal case under Article 118 of the Criminal Code.

In «PSM Sport,» they are convinced that it was an attack. According to the team«s version, there were several attackers. On September 24, Artamonov»s colleagues reported that the man was feeling slightly better.
