An accident occurred on Khovskaya Street in Moscow. On Friday, January 30, an ice chunk fell from the roof of a house onto a woman. According to an MSK1.RU correspondent, the pensioner«s body still cannot be removed from the road. The evacuation has stalled due to the threat of other icicles falling.

The woman«s body lies untouched under the house windows.

«Today, icicles were being knocked down from the roof. There were barriers. And a boy was standing, shouting. Maybe he got distracted, I don»t know,« a Muscovite told the correspondent. »Now there«s a dead woman lying there.»

A warning sign about snow removal is posted at the site.

A worker from the local «Zhilishchnik» (housing maintenance service) told journalists that people often ignore the rules and walk through cordoned-off areas.

«Actually, they constantly remove icicles and snow. There are barriers, everything is controlled,» said a janitor. «People are told to go around, but they say, »Well, I«ll be quick-quick.» As if people don«t have any common sense.»

Another local resident expressed a polar opinion. A Muscovite living on the 8th floor stated that the roof is constantly covered with icicles that are rarely cleared.

«The courtyard area, like the roof, has been neglected by the management company. Before the tragedy, no one was interested in the icicles,» he briefly noted.

Meanwhile, in the courtyard of the house where the woman just died, cleanup is still underway. Janitors with shovels are clearing snow, making paths to the entrances.

Recall that a criminal case has been initiated under the article «Performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements» (Article 238 of the Russian Criminal Code).

Earlier, an ice chunk almost killed an infant in a residential complex in southeastern Moscow. A piece of ice broke off from around the 20th floor and fell right into a stroller with a small child. The incident was caught on video.
