Hotel Manager Discovers Dead Teacher on Birthday

A hotel manager in Kazan described how she found the body of Yekaterina Sinelnikova, a teacher from Volgograd who died on her birthday. Maria, who was also celebrating her birthday that day, went to the hotel to check the room at the request of the deceased«s son. There she discovered the woman lying on the floor next to the bed with no signs of life, holding medicine in her hands.

As a reminder, V1.RU previously reported on the death of Yekaterina Sinelnikova based on accounts from parents of students, who called to congratulate her on her birthday on 20 October but no one answered. At that time, the woman was in Kazan, where she had gone for her son«s basketball competitions. On 19 October, the day before her birthday, she took an excursion to Yoshkar-Ola, posted photos from there on social media, and returned to the hotel room that evening. She did not make contact after that.

As told to V1.RU by the hotel manager where the tragedy occurred, on 20 October she was also celebrating her birthday with friends. That evening, the teacher«s son called her and asked her to check if everything was alright with his mother.

«Around 22:00, her son started calling, said that his mother was not in contact. At first, I didn«t think much of this call. Maybe the person is sleeping, — says Maria. — Then the son»s coach called me, said the same thing, but no one told me about the birthday. I even asked the son: has it ever happened that she doesn«t answer the phone, or did she have any plans, friends, maybe in Kazan? He said no, she had no plans. The only thing — on 19 October she had an excursion to Yoshkar-Ola. According to the cameras, she left the hotel on 19 October at 9:30 and returned at 20:30 the same day».

The girl recalls how she entered the room with her friends, but no one was there, although all the belongings were in place. A little later, they saw the teacher«s body hidden behind the bed.

«We entered the room. The bed is positioned such that there are small spaces on both sides. We come in — jacket hanging, shoes in place, phone charging on the bed, but no one is there. At that moment, someone called her, the call ended, and the screen showed 00:00, — says the girl. — We turn our heads and see that she is lying on the floor between the wall and the bed, clutching Corvalol in her hands. We called 112. An ambulance arrived, confirmed death, checked the passport. Then the police arrived, the forensic expert. They took her away only around 6 in the morning».

Earlier, a close friend of the deceased told V1.RU that Yekaterina Sinelnikova might have had a heart attack. However, as Maria says, on the evening of 21 October, an investigator called her and stated the cause of the woman«s death.

«The examination says it was suffocation. I was scared at first. But then the investigator called and said that the woman had taken a lot of medication. There were very many pills in the room. On the table were a pill organizer, a blood pressure monitor. He says that the body couldn«t cope and she suffocated, — says the girl. — I was in shock when I found out that the son even managed to play a match on 21 October. He is bearing all this steadfastly. I want to help him. He was her only son».

As a reminder, Yekaterina Sinelnikova worked as a mathematics teacher for 35 years at Gymnasium No. 4 in the Voroshilovsky District. Colleagues, parents, and students said that the teacher was loved not only for her professionalism but also for the atmosphere she created in lessons. The day before, she was buried at the Motornoye Cemetery in the Dzerzhinsky District.
