A fatal accident involving a Mazda Demio and a Toyota Yaris occurred on the evening of January 23 in the Shkotovsky District of Primorsky Krai. Under unknown circumstances, the cars collided with each other and sustained serious damage, and three people died immediately, according to the regional prosecutor«s office.

The accident happened near the settlement of Shkotovo. The deceased were the driver of the Mazda, as well as the driver and a passenger of the Toyota. Two other passengers in the Toyota, including a child born in 2012, were injured.
The injured were taken to the hospital for medical assistance, but there is no information on their condition. The prosecutor«s office has taken control of the situation.
On January 22, another fatal accident occurred near the village of Barabash. A King Lion bus was carrying tourists from the Chinese city of Hunchun, and at the 56th kilometer from Ussuriysk towards the Krasino border crossing, it was hit by an empty car carrier truck of the FAW Jiefang brand, leading to a collision with four other vehicles. There were at least 14 people on the bus, three of whom, including the driver and a female passenger, died. Five more were injured: three were in serious condition, and two refused hospitalization.
Later, it was revealed that the truck was driven by a 38-year-old resident of China with six years of driving experience. Presumably, the trailer of the vehicle skidded into the oncoming lane, and he lost control, which is why he was detained as a suspect in a case of traffic rules violation resulting in the negligent death of two or more persons (Part 5 of Article 265 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
First Vice-Governor of Primorsky Krai Vera Shcherbina stated that the families of those killed in the accident in the Khasansky District will receive material assistance. By order of Governor Oleg Kozhemyako, they will receive 300,000 rubles (approximately $3,000 at current rates) each.
All materials on this accident are collected in a separate story via the link.
