Freight train wagons derail in Bogoroditsk district

A derailment of several freight train wagons in the Bogoroditsk district of Tula region has caused potential train delays, with no casualties reported.

In the Tula region, late in the evening, several wagons of a large freight train heading towards Yelets derailed. This was reported by Governor Dmitry Milyaev on his Telegram channel.
According to official information, there are no casualties as a result of the derailment. The incident occurred on the Zhdanka-Tovarkovo section, at the 255th kilometer of the Uzlovaya—Yelets railway in the Bogoroditsk district.
A total of 4 empty tanks that were part of the train derailed, out of 71 wagons in total. Currently, 14 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) and four units of equipment are on site, working to quickly resolve the problem. A recovery train has also been sent to the scene.
Due to the derailment of the tanks and the blocking of parallel tracks, there may be delays in the schedules of passing trains.
At the moment, the causes and circumstances of the incident are being established.
