Around three o«clock in the morning, a reader reported to Fontanka: »Something interesting is happening at 30 Millionnaya Street.« On the spot, he counted about a dozen emergency vehicles.

Initially, attention was drawn to building No. 30 on Millionnaya Street, which houses the Consulate General of Japan. However, the firefighting teams« target was not the diplomatic mission.

The rescuers headed to the State Hermitage Museum. Representatives of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for St. Petersburg clarified that the call was false.
