Fire kills one in Yaroslavl Oblast

A report about a fire in the village of Bor, Nekrasovsky District, was received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) early in the morning on January 24 at 03:18. To extinguish the fire, 24 rescuers and 7 units of special equipment were dispatched to the scene.
The firefighting efforts lasted almost twelve hours and ended only at 14:25. According to preliminary information, a residential building with an area of 150 square meters was completely destroyed by the fire. The causes of the incident are currently being investigated.
As reported by the press service of the regional MChS, «unfortunately, one person died and one person was injured.»
Moreover, on January 24, fire services in Yaroslavl Oblast extinguished nine technogenic fires. The fire sources were recorded in private houses in Rybinsk, Uglich, and Yaroslavsky District.
Earlier in the region, several other fires occurred:
- On January 21, a grocery store caught fire in Krasnye Tkachi. The presumed cause is an emergency mode of the electrical network, which damaged 10 meters of wiring and 12 square meters of ceiling.
- On the night of January 20, in Yaroslavl, eight cars burned down in one of the auto services. To extinguish the fire, which was accompanied by bangs, the efforts of 32 rescuers and 12 units of equipment were required. The work took about four hours.
